The blade does not have the
90-degree back cut to it.
It has the 1944-45 production style guard which is
secured by a bent metal bar passing through the
tang.
It does have the cherry bomb ordnance mark next
to
the brand stamping.
The one plastic grips has the numbers
"7266827 H4"
molded in while the other has the backward 5. I do not
believe these to be the original grips. They are held
together by two half threaded screws.
The latch plate has the SP stamp
on it along with the
"5 4 A. The latch plate uses
solid pins to hold the
latch plates in place. |

This was a rare find by Lou. Its a
plastic grip handled
by Imperial. But it does not have the ordinance bomb
on it, and it has the rare I in a circle on the latch plate.
"It also has the wider guard adopted in 1951, and the
Eagle and Stars acceptance mark if it is the same as
mine from that contract. Would have had the plastic
grips originally, marked with the part numbers
7266827 and 7266828 molded in.
Surprisingly hard to find, much harder than the TMN,
which leads me to believe they may have either been
made in much smaller quantity or were actually made
for another nation< under an aid program contract. "
