USM 7 Bayonet with USM 8 A1 Scabbard

Even though this is for the M7, Mr. Eickhorn indicated that the M4
and M7 that they produce are the same regarding material, approx. Weight
and length, etc.

USM 7 Bayonet with USM 8 A1 Scabbard

General Information:

The USM 7 bayonet together with it’s scabbard USM 8 A1 now has been produced and is
successfully in service since decades as a standard soldier equipment item not only in the
U.S. Army but in many Armed Forces around the world. Eickhorn-Solingen redesigned and
enbettered
the USM 7 bayonet by using better materials and newer production
technologies. The Eickhorn-Solingen USM 7 is made from finest bayonet-steel and available
with adaptions for most existing assault-rifle in the world. The USM7 is a economic way of
equipping each soldier with an irreplaceable tool.

Characteristics (Specifications) :

The USM 7 is the purest version of a bayonet with a relatively low weight, good balance,
for use in toughest field-work and at a very economic price. Provided the user follows the
instructions as to dry and non-oily conditions the USM 7 bayonet made by Eickhorn-Solingen
is electrically insulated up to 500 Volts. The Eickhorn-Solingen USM 7 bayonet is
temperature-resistant between -40°C and +80°C, fungus-resistant, NBC-resistant and
de-contaminable. The catch being the sensitive part of a bayonet may be easily exchanged.
The scabbard has a self-draining-device to avoid an accumulation of water in the scabbard.
The mouthpiece of the scabbard consists of only one piece and isn’t welded which avoids
malfunctioning in long-term. The Eickhorn USM 8 A1 scabbard has a polyester textile belt
and polyester tie-thongs instead of a cotton ensuring a much better resistancy against
fungus in tropical climates. There a no more metal pieces on the ends of the closing-strip
of the polyester textile-belt because th ends are heat-cut. This reduces the noise and
avoids the problem of loosing the ends and thus ensuring a much longer lifetime of the belt.

Functions:

The standard-equipment of the USM 7 includes:
  • dagger-blade for toughest use
  • traditional bayonet
  • ergonomic handle
  • tie-thongs to secure the knife to the wearers leg

Additionally we can offer optionally:

  • blade with customer logo
  • any other color than our standard black color for knife and green color for scabbard

Testing:

Tests are constantly performed during production and before shipping. These tests include
materials, hardness, resiliency, twist, impact, sharpness, mechanical strength, latching
mechanism functioning, bayonet retention, electrical insulation, corrosion-, NBC- and
fungus-resistancy, temperature extremes, firing simulation, interchangeability and finish.
